A team of colleagues from Firmac and Firth Sheet Metal has completed the Yorkshire-Three Peaks Challenge and raised more than £2030 for St Catherine’s Hospice. The 25-mile route which included Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough was not made easy with torrential rain for most of the day.

The team comprised of Gregg Firth, John Benson, Darren Beck, Mark Breckon, Jay Galinski and Chris Messruther. Organiser John Benson said, “The conditions were really tough but we are delighted with the amount we raised. It was a great team effort in difficult conditions, so we were happy to complete the walk in just under 11 hours, which included a 30-minute break under the Ribblehead Viaduct to shelter from the rain! I’d like to say a very big thank you to everyone who sponsored us, family, friends and suppliers.”

Saint Catherine’s provide care and support at home and in the hospice for adults with a terminal illness, and to their families and friends. Susan Stephenson, communications and marketing manager at Saint Catherine’s, said: “Thank you so much to John and the team for supporting patient care in this way.”
